Elke gemeente kent ze: plannen die al twee jaar in overleg zitten, samenwerkingen die nooit starten, partijen die langs elkaar heen praten. Ik ga in gesprek met iedereen aan tafel, zoek de werkelijke blokkade en zorg dat er iets concreets gebeurt. Geen rapport. Resultaat. Every municipality knows them: plans stuck in meetings for two years, collaborations that never launch, parties talking past each other. I speak to everyone at the table, find the real blockage and make sure something concrete happens. No report. Results.
U wilt weten wat er werkelijk leeft bij ondernemers of bewoners, maar heeft geen tijd voor een lang traject. Ik voer de gesprekken, verbind de juiste partijen en lever een helder beeld van wat er nodig is en wie dat kan oppakken. You want to know what truly matters to businesses or residents, but have no time for a lengthy process. I have the conversations, connect the right parties and deliver a clear picture of what is needed and who can take it on.
Sport werkt waar beleid het laat afweten. Als tenniscoach en voormalig producent weet ik hoe je sportinitiatieven verbindt met gemeentelijke doelen: sociale cohesie, jeugdontwikkeling, gezondheid. Zonder dat het een project wordt dat niemand trekt. Sport works where policy falls short. As a tennis coach and former producer I know how to connect sports initiatives to municipal goals: social cohesion, youth development, health. Without turning it into a project nobody owns.

Uw gemeente doet goed werk dat niemand ziet. Na twintig jaar in de televisie weet ik precies hoe u dat verandert. Voor organisaties en initiatieven die iets te zeggen hebben maar niet weten hoe. Op aanvraag On requestJarenlang werkte ik bij DWDD, waar ik leerde hoe je onder tijdsdruk mensen met totaal verschillende belangen op één lijn krijgt. Als productieleider bij Pauw & Witteman en PAUW was ik verantwoordelijk voor programma's die miljoenen mensen bereikten, elke avond opnieuw. Via de commerciële wereld, waar ik het beleid van grote supermarkten omzette in beeld en verhaal, keerde ik terug naar de publieke omroep als hoofd productie bij HUMAN. Daar maakte ik de eerste echte stap naar maatschappelijke thema's. For years I worked at DWDD, learning how to align people with completely different interests under time pressure. As production manager at Pauw & Witteman and PAUW I was responsible for programmes that reached millions of people, every evening. Via the commercial world, turning supermarket strategy into stories, I returned to public broadcasting as head of production at HUMAN. There I took my first real steps toward social themes.
Wat ik in al die jaren leerde: hoe je vastgelopen processen vlot trekt, hoe je iets van de grond tilt dat er nog niet is, en hoe je een omgeving schept waarin mensen samenwerken die dat normaal niet doen. Die vaardigheid verdwijnt niet als de camera uitgaat. Wat verandert is de schaal. En die keuze heb ik bewust gemaakt. What I learned in all those years: how to unblock stalled processes, how to get something off the ground that doesn't exist yet, and how to create an environment in which people work together who normally don't. That skill doesn't disappear when the camera goes off. What changes is the scale. And that choice I made deliberately.
De keuze voor de Leidse regio is ook persoonlijk. Mijn vriendin is KNO-arts in de regio. Onze kinderen groeien hier op. Ik heb niet gekozen voor een opdracht ergens anders. Ik heb gekozen voor de plek waar mijn leven zit, en van daaruit wil ik iets bijdragen dat echt telt. Als onafhankelijke heb ik de vrijheid om snel te schakelen. Geen intern overleg, geen facturen die langs drie lagen moeten. U neemt contact op, we spreken af, en als het klikt beginnen we. The choice for the Leiden region is also personal. My partner is an ENT specialist in the region. Our children are growing up here. I did not choose an assignment somewhere else. I chose the place where my life is, and from there I want to contribute something that genuinely matters. As an independent I move fast. No internal meetings, no invoices through three layers. Als tenniscoach en als producent leerde ik hetzelfde: de beste resultaten ontstaan als je mensen de ruimte geeft om zelf te bewegen. Dat is precies de rol die ik als verbindingsmakelaar speel. As a tennis coach and as a producer I learned the same thing: the best results come when you give people the space to move themselves. That is exactly the role I play as a neighbourhood connector.
